Team: Stores Division (RAAF Services)
Location: Brunswick Street Oval, Fitzroy
Date: Circa 1941-45

Arthur Cutting - Middle Row, fourth from left
Jim Thoms - Middle Row, fifth from left

Fairly obviously an RAAF Services team.

Almost certainly this photo was taken at Brunswick (VFA) Oval with the concrete grandstand in the background. Circa 1941-45. Smallish crowd of spectators. Several RAAF personnel can be seen in the crowd. As in (H2008.122/242) this photo again features Williamstown stalwart Arthur Cutting and Footscray player Jim Thoms.

gain, the jumper is dark with the ‘RAAF-SD’ monogram.. Eighteen players. White shorts. The group of players generally is different from the group seen in another Stores Depot team in image H2008.122/242.

Further Work Needed

Date range is probably 1941-42 rather than later years as Thoms and Cutting appear in Stores match lists in 1941 and 1942 but neither appear in 1943-44.

Player middle row far left resembles ex-North Melbourne player Charles Cameron. A Cameron played for Stores Division in 1942
