Argus 22 April 1950 p.3 The Argus Weekend Magazine

IN only one season JOCK LINEEN has made himself one of our best ruckmen. He came from Cororooke in 1947, but returned after having played two games early in the season. He came down last season and played a great part in bringing North Melbourne into the preliminary final. The only game he missed was when he played for Victoria in Sydney.

Jock is 6ft. 3in. and weighs 13st. 121b. He is therefore lighter than most of the other followers, but it seems to have given him greater mobility. He is particularly fast and active, and a tireless player. In view of his brief experience, he has made remarkable strides, and one can assume that he will be of even greater value to his side this season. With North Melbourne making such a striking advance last year, it could easily go farther, and Jock's ruckwork will be an important factor if that progress is made.
