ALBERT LINTON was Footscray's No. 1 rover, and held down that position last season after having played only six games in the previous two years. He came from Spotswood with football in his blood, as his father, "Curly," was a noted North Melbourne player in his day.

Young "Curly" came to Footscray as a wing man, but did not become a regular player until he got his chance as a rover. Since then he has firmly established himself, and looks as if he will be a regular for years.

Linton, who is well liked, was married last year. He was in the R.A.A.F.. and later did a rehabilitation course in carpentry. He is an active worker on the social side of the club.

A hard-hitting batsman, he made some quick centuries last season for St. Monica's team in the Footscray District Association. He had a try with the senior team at Footscray, but decided to return to the juniors.
